How to Be More Present and Why Mindfulness is the Secret to a Happier Life

It is important to live in the present moment and appreciate the beauty that each day brings. We can only control this moment and live in the "now", so it does not serve us to ruminate on the past or try to anticipate the future. When you focus on mindfulness and being present, you will become happier and your wildest dreams will seem within reach.

Mindfulness meditation does not need to be a special activity with a yoga mat and certain setting. 

Mindfulness meditation is simply a practice that can help you to become more present and aware of your thoughts, emotions, and surroundings. When you are mindful, you are not trying to judge or control your thoughts, but simply observe them as they arise. This can be difficult at first, but with regular practice, you can learn to become more present in your everyday life.

One way is to focus on your breath. Whenever you find yourself getting lost in thought, simply bring your attention back to your breath.

Another way is mindfulness of actions is to be aware of your body and movements as you go about your day-to-day tasks. Pay attention to the sensations in your body and the movement of your limbs as you walk, cook, clean, or work. By paying attention to these things that we normally take for granted, we can start to appreciate the simple act of being alive.

When we are mindful and present, we are able to savor the joys of life more fully. We can also be better equipped to deal with difficult situations because we are not lost in our thoughts but are instead more aware of what is happening in the present moment.
