Featured Mum: Interview with Libby Chan

We interviewed the lovely Content Creator and Ovl Collection Brand Ambassador, Libby Chan @spring_starclouds

Please tell us a bit about yourself and your family. What was your journey into motherhood?

I have one girl, Mia, who is 5 years old, and I’m a single mum.

I was not prepared for her. I found out I was pregnant during a very dark time in my life. She’s been a blessing. She changed me, my priorities and is my sole reason for living.

What surprised you most about being a mum?

How much time I would spend playing dolls!

What do you love most about being a mum?

How she never fails to make me laugh every day. I’m never lonely. The feeling of being full of love.

What is the hardest part about being a mum?

Having to wake up multiple times a night even though she’s 5 now. Also, as a single parent, it's hard being both the mum and dad. It’s both rewarding yet challenging.

How has being a mother changed you?

The way I talk. My sleep. The way I dance, the food I eat, the things I do, what I think about. It all mainly revolves around one tiny little human being.

How long have you been a content creator / influencer?

Since August 2020. I created an account on Instagram and it got me hooked.

What do you enjoy most about being a content creator and what do you find most challenging?

I enjoy the products and benefits (of course). Also making new friends and showing everyone the special memories my daughter and I have created together.

The most challenging part is finding the time. Sometimes meeting the requirements and time frames if my daughter doesn't want to cooperate can be difficult.

Do you have any little known facts about yourself or hobbies you’d like to share?

I love Korean BBQ and skincare. I enjoy binging on Netflix and online shopping.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Working in an office. Looking at buying a house. Maybe find someone we both love and loves us back and have a second child. Mia really wants a sibling.

What is your favourite piece of jewellery in the Ovl Collection, and why?

My daughter’s Brave bracelet. She is a very cautious kid. I told her the bracelet is magical and helps her become braver.
