You don’t need to be big to have an impact

When we were thinking about what to do for Mother's Day, the first thing that came to mind was a sale. Everyone has sales for special occasions and from a business perspective, they can be lucrative.

But to us, it just didn't feel special enough. Our business is built on the foundation that we exist for one purpose. To support and empower the incredible women who do it all. So in line with our purpose, we decided that for every bangle that's sold before Mother's Day, we'd donate another to a mum who could really use the support.

We chose to do this through the Miracle Babies Foundation.

Because while most of us are having brunch with our families, opening presents and celebrating Mother's Day in fun ways...there are mums who aren't home with their babies. Their babies are in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or Special Care Nursery. These mums are waiting, hoping and praying for a miracle.

While we can't take their pain away, we can send them strength. We can let them know that we're thinking of them. And we can be part of their village.

Interestingly, not everyone thought this was a good idea.

When we first mentioned this to people, there were mixed comments. Everyone thought it was a beautiful idea, but plenty of people said it was bad for business. They said it'd put a lot of stress on our profit margins. And they said we're too young as a business to be giving back. That we should wait until we're much larger.

But we're not going to wait. We're going to stick to our mission. Because we wholeheartedly believe in what we're doing.

We believe that we can build a beautiful business that supports mums from the start.

We believe that you'll support us.

And we believe that we can do this, together.

UPDATE: This initiative was so well received that we decided to make giving a permanent part of our business. For every piece purchased from The Ovl Collection, we'll donate another to a mum that needs hope, strength and support.
